The DBX comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Range Rover Sport’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The DBX’s corrosion warranty is 4 years longer than the Range Rover Sport’s (10 vs. 6 years).

The DBX’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 187 more horsepower (542 vs. 355) and 151 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 365) than the Range Rover Sport P360’s standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid. The DBX’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 147 more horsepower (542 vs. 395) and 111 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 405) than the Range Rover Sport P400’s standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid. The DBX’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 24 more horsepower (542 vs. 518) and 55 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 461) than the Range Rover Sport’s optional 5.0 supercharged V8.

As tested in Car and Driver the Aston Martin DBX is faster than the Land Rover Range Rover Sport:

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the DBX’s fuel efficiency. The Range Rover Sport doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The DBX has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Range Rover Sport doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Aston Martin DBX, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Range Rover Sport.

For better traction, the DBX has larger tires than the Range Rover Sport (F:285/40R22 & R:325/35R22 vs. 235/65R19). The DBX’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Range Rover Sport (F:285/40R22 & R:325/35R22 vs. 275/40R22).

The DBX’s standard 285/40R22 front and 325/35R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Range Rover Sport’s standard 65 series tires. The DBX’s optional 285/35R23 front and 325/30R23 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the Range Rover Sport’s optional 40 series tires.

The DBX executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 3.2 seconds quicker than the Range Rover Sport HSE (24.4 seconds @ .79 average G’s vs. 27.6 seconds @ .62 average G’s).

The DBX has 1.4 inches more front headroom, 2.2 inches more front legroom, .9 inches more rear headroom and 3.9 inches more rear legroom than the Range Rover Sport.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the DBX when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the liftgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The Range Rover Sport doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

The DBX has a much larger cargo volume than the Range Rover Sport with its rear seat up (22.5 vs. 10.8 cubic feet).

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Aston Martin DBX offers an optional wireless phone charging system (Qi) for the front seat. The Range Rover Sport doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
