Compare the2023 Nissan Z VS 2022 Infiniti Q60

The Z has a standard blind spot warning system which uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. Only the Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400 offers a blind spot warning system.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Z has a standard rear cross-path warning system, which uses sensors in the rear bumper to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. Only the Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400 has a rear cross-path warning system.

The Z’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Q60 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Z and the Q60 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, collision warning systems, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

There are over 5 times as many Nissan dealers as there are Infiniti dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Z’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Nissan vehicles are better in initial quality than Infiniti vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Nissan above average in initial quality. With 37 more problems per 100 vehicles, Infiniti is rated below average.

Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Nissan vehicles are more reliable than Infiniti With 23 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Nissan higher than Infiniti.

The Z’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 100 more horsepower (400 vs. 300) and 55 lbs.-ft. more torque (350 vs. 295) than the Q60’s standard 3.0 turbo V6.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Nissan Z higher (5 out of 10) than the Infiniti Q60 (3). This means the Z produces up to 16.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Q60 every 15,000 miles.

The Z offers a manual transmission for better acceleration, control and sportiness. The Q60 doesn’t offer a manual transmission.

A nine-speed automatic is no cost option on the Nissan Z, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the Q60.

The Z Performance’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Q60 doesn’t offer launch control.

The Z Performance Coupe handles at .93 G’s, while the Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD pulls only .88 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the Z’s turning circle is 3.9 feet tighter than the Q60’s (32.8 feet vs. 36.7 feet). The Z’s turning circle is 5.3 feet tighter than the Q60 AWD’s (32.8 feet vs. 38.1 feet).

The Nissan Z may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 250 to 450 pounds less than the Infiniti Q60.

The Z is 12 inches shorter than the Q60, making the Z easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Z has .3 inches more front headroom and .7 inches more front hip room than the Q60.

The Z Manual can be flat towed on all four wheels (dinghy towed), allowing recreational vehicle owners to bring it with them on the road. When they reach their destination, the Z can be unhitched and driven around locally. The Q60 can’t be towed flat on the ground.

The Z’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Q60 does not have an oil pressure gauge.

Intelligent Key standard on the Z allows you to unlock the driver’s door, trunk and start the engine all without removing a key from pocket or purse. This eliminates searching for keys before loading groceries, getting in the vehicle in bad weather or making a hurried start to your trip. The Infiniti Q60’s Infiniti Intelligent Key doesn’t unlock the trunk.
