Warranty
Toyota’s powertrain warranty covers the Supra 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than BMW covers the M4. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the M4 ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.
There are almost 4 times as many Toyota dealers as there are BMW dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Supra’s warranty.
Reliability
J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Toyota vehicles are more reliable than BMW vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Toyota above average in long-term dependability. With 34 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, BMW is rated lower.
From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that Toyota vehicles are more reliable than BMW vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Toyota second in overall reliability. BMW is ranked 12th.

Transmission
The Toyota Supra comes standard with an automatic transmission, for driver comfort, especially in the city. Automatic costs extra on the M4.
Suspension and Handling
The Supra 3.0 Premium handles at 1.07 G’s, while the M4 Coupe pulls only 1.03 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.
For better maneuverability, the Supra’s turning circle is 5.9 feet tighter than the M4’s (34.1 feet vs. 40 feet).
Chassis
The Toyota Supra may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 650 to 900 pounds less than the BMW M4.
The Supra is 1 foot, 4.6 inches shorter than the M4, making the Supra easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Ergonomics
To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Toyota Supra 3.0 Manual has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The M4 doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
