The Lamborghini Aventador has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The MC20 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Aventador has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The MC20 doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Aventador’s fuel efficiency. The MC20 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Aventador’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. The MC20 doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The Aventador has 5.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the MC20 (23.8 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

All wheel drive, available in the Aventador, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Maserati MC20 is not available with all wheel drive.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Aventador has standard 21-inch rear wheels. Only 20-inch wheels are available on the MC20.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Aventador is 1.5 inches wider in the front and 1.2 inches wider in the rear than on the MC20.

The Lamborghini Aventador may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 50 to 250 pounds less than the Maserati MC20.

The design of the Lamborghini Aventador amounts to more than styling. The Aventador has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .33 Cd. That is significantly lower than the MC20 (.38). A more efficient exterior helps the Aventador go faster and keeps the interior quieter. It also helps the Aventador get better fuel mileage.

The Aventador’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The MC20 has neither an oil pressure gauge nor a temperature gauge.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Aventador has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The MC20 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Aventador’s power mirror controls are mounted on the door for easy access. The MC20’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.
