The Lamborghini Aventador has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The 911 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Aventador. But it costs extra on the 911.

Both the Aventador and the 911 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available rear parking sensors.

The Aventador has more powerful engines than the 911:

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Aventador’s fuel efficiency. The 911 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Aventador’s 255/30R20 front and 355/25R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 911’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires. The Aventador’s tires are lower profile than the 911’s optional 35 series front and 30 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Aventador has standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Smaller 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are standard on the 911.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Aventador Ultimae’s wheelbase is 9.8 inches longer than on the 911 (106.3 inches vs. 96.5 inches). The Aventador Ultimae’s wheelbase is 9.6 inches longer than on the 911 GT3 (106.3 inches vs. 96.7 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Aventador is 5.1 inches wider in the front and 4.5 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the 911.

The Aventador’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (43% to 57%) than the 911’s (39.5% to 60.5%). This gives the Aventador more stable handling and braking.

The Aventador has 1.1 inches more front legroom and 2.9 inches more front shoulder room than the 911.

The Aventador has a larger trunk than the 911 Coupe with its rear seat up (5.2 vs. 4.6 cubic feet).

The Aventador Roadster has a larger trunk with its top down than the 911 Cabriolet with its top down (5.2 vs. 4.6 cubic feet).

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Aventador has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The 911 doesn’t offer headlight washers.
