The Aventador has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The GT doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the Aventador and the GT have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and available rear parking sensors.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Aventador’s fuel efficiency. The GT doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Aventador’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. The GT doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The Aventador has 8.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the GT (23.8 vs. 15.2 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Aventador has standard 21-inch rear wheels. Only 20-inch wheels are available on the GT.

The front and rear suspension of the Aventador uses coil springs for better ride, handling and control than the GT, which uses torsion bars in the rear. Coil springs compress more progressively and offer more suspension travel for a smoother ride with less bottoming out.

The Aventador has vehicle speed sensitive variable-assist power steering, for low-effort parking, better control at highway speeds and during hard cornering, and a better feel of the road. The GT doesn’t offer variable-assist power steering.

The Aventador’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (43% to 57%) than the GT’s (40.7% to 59.3%). This gives the Aventador more stable handling and braking.

The design of the Lamborghini Aventador amounts to more than styling. The Aventador has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .33 Cd. That is lower than the GT (.35). A more efficient exterior helps the Aventador go faster and keeps the interior quieter. It also helps the Aventador get better fuel mileage.

The Aventador has 7 cubic feet more passenger volume than the GT (50 vs. 43).

The Aventador’s standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility. The GT doesn’t offer heated side mirrors.

The Aventador’s standard rear view mirror has an automatic dimming feature. This mirror can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on it, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The GT doesn’t offer the luxury of an automatic dimming rear view mirror.
