The Lamborghini Aventador has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Corvette doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Aventador has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Corvette doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The Aventador offers optional parking sensors to help warn the driver about vehicles, pedestrians or other obstacles behind or in front of their vehicle. The Corvette doesn’t offer a front parking aid.

The Aventador SVJ’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 264 more horsepower (759 vs. 495) and 61 lbs.-ft. more torque (531 vs. 470) than the Corvette Z51’s standard 6.2 V8. The Aventador Ultimae’s standard 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 274 more horsepower (769 vs. 495) and 61 lbs.-ft. more torque (531 vs. 470) than the Corvette Z51’s standard 6.2 V8.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Aventador’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. The Corvette doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The Aventador has 5.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the Corvette (23.8 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

All wheel drive, available in the Aventador, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Chevrolet Corvette is not available with all wheel drive.

For better stopping power the Aventador’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Corvette:

The Aventador has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Corvette doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Aventador stops shorter than the Corvette:

For better traction, the Aventador has larger tires than the Corvette (F:255/30R20 & R:355/25R21 vs. F:245/35R19 & R:305/30R20).

The Aventador’s 255/30R20 front and 355/25R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Corvette’s standard 35 series front and 30 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Aventador has standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Only 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are available on the Corvette.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Aventador is 2.8 inches wider in the front and 3.7 inches wider in the rear than on the Corvette.

The Aventador’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (43% to 57%) than the Corvette’s (40% to 60%). This gives the Aventador more stable handling and braking.

The Aventador has .5 inches more front legroom and 1.1 inches more front shoulder room than the Corvette.

The Aventador’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Corvette’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Aventador has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Corvette doesn’t offer headlight washers.
