The Lamborghini Aventador has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Vantage doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Aventador has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Vantage doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The Aventador Ultimae’s standard 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 242 more horsepower (769 vs. 527) and 26 lbs.-ft. more torque (531 vs. 505) than the Vantage F1’s standard 4.0 turbo V8.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Aventador’s fuel efficiency. The Vantage doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Aventador has 4.5 gallons more fuel capacity than the Vantage (23.8 vs. 19.3 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Aventador offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The Vantage doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

All wheel drive, available in the Aventador, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Aston Martin Vantage is not available with all wheel drive.

The Aventador’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Vantage doesn’t offer launch control.

The Aventador stops shorter than the Vantage:

For better traction and acceleration, the Aventador has larger rear tires than the Vantage (355/25R21 vs. 295/35R20).

The Aventador’s 255/30R20 front and 355/25R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Vantage’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires. The Aventador’s tires are lower profile than the Vantage’s optional 35 series front and 30 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Aventador has standard 21-inch rear wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the Vantage.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Aventador is 2.1 inches wider in the front and 1.3 inches wider in the rear than on the Vantage.

The Aventador handles at 1.04 G’s, while the Vantage Coupe pulls only .99 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Aventador executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the Vantage Coupe (23.1 seconds @ .92 average G’s vs. 24 seconds @ .83 average G’s).

The Lamborghini Aventador may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 250 to 350 pounds less than the Aston Martin Vantage.

The Aventador has 3 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Vantage (50 vs. 47).

The Aventador has 1 inch more front legroom and 2.5 inches more front shoulder room than the Vantage.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Aventador. The Vantage doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The Aventador’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Vantage does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Aventador’s front power windows open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Vantage’s power windows’ switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.
