The Aventador has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The DB11 doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the Aventador and the DB11 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available rear parking sensors.

The Aventador SVJ’s standard 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 231 more horsepower (759 vs. 528) and 18 lbs.-ft. more torque (531 vs. 513) than the DB11 V8’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Aventador SVJ’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 129 more horsepower (759 vs. 630) and 15 lbs.-ft. more torque (531 vs. 516) than the DB11 V12’s standard 5.2 turbo V12. The Aventador Ultimae’s standard 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 139 more horsepower (769 vs. 630) and 15 lbs.-ft. more torque (531 vs. 516) than the DB11 V12’s standard 5.2 turbo V12.

The Aventador has 3.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the DB11 (23.8 vs. 20.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Aventador offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DB11 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

All wheel drive, available in the Aventador, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Aston Martin DB11 is not available with all wheel drive.

The Aventador has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The DB11 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction and acceleration, the Aventador has larger rear tires than the DB11 (355/25R21 vs. 295/35R20).

The Aventador’s 255/30R20 front and 355/25R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the DB11’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Aventador has standard 21-inch rear wheels. Only 20-inch wheels are available on the DB11.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Aventador is 2.1 inches wider in the front and 1.3 inches wider in the rear than on the DB11.

The Aventador handles at 1.04 G’s, while the DB11 pulls only .94 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Aventador executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the DB11 (23.1 seconds @ .92 average G’s vs. 23.9 seconds @ .84 average G’s).

The Lamborghini Aventador may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 550 pounds less than the Aston Martin DB11.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Aventador. The DB11 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The Aventador’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The DB11 does not have an oil pressure gauge.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Aventador has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The DB11 doesn’t offer headlight washers.
