The Lamborghini Aventador has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The NSX doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

Both the Aventador and the NSX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available rear parking sensors.

The Aventador SVJ’s standard 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 159 more horsepower (759 vs. 600) and 39 lbs.-ft. more torque (531 vs. 492) than the NSX’s 3.5 turbo V6 hybrid. The Aventador Ultimae’s standard 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 169 more horsepower (769 vs. 600) and 39 lbs.-ft. more torque (531 vs. 492) than the NSX’s 3.5 turbo V6 hybrid.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Aventador’s fuel efficiency. The NSX doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Aventador has 8.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the NSX (23.8 vs. 15.6 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better traction, the Aventador has larger tires than the NSX (F:255/30R20 & R:355/25R21 vs. F:245/35R19 & R:305/30R20).

The Aventador’s 255/30R20 front and 355/25R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the NSX’s standard 35 series front and 30 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Aventador has standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Only 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are available on the NSX.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Aventador’s wheelbase is 2.8 inches longer than on the NSX (106.3 inches vs. 103.5 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Aventador is 2.2 inches wider in the front and 1.6 inches wider in the rear than on the NSX.

The Aventador handles at 1.04 G’s, while the NSX Type S pulls only .99 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Aventador’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The NSX does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Aventador’s power window and power lock switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The NSX’s power window switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Aventador has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The NSX doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Lamborghini Aventador comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Acura NSX isn’t available as a convertible.
