The F-Super Duty 4x2’s independent front suspension is much lighter than the Ram HD’s solid front axle, which allows the F-Super Duty’s wheels to react more quickly and accurately to the road’s surface, improving both ride and handling.
For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the F-Super Duty’s wheelbase is longer than on the Ram HD:

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the F-Super Duty is 1.5 inches wider in the front and .2 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Ram HD.
The F-250 Standard Bed Crew Cab 4x4 handles at .75 G’s, while the Ram HD 3500 Long Box Limited Crew Cab 4x4 pulls only .61 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.
The F-250 Standard Bed Crew Cab 4x4 executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.4 seconds quicker than the Ram HD 3500 Long Box Limited Crew Cab 4x4 (28.8 seconds @ .57 average G’s vs. 30.2 seconds @ .53 average G’s).
For greater off-road capability the F-250 Regular Cab has a 1.2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Ram HD 3500 Long Box Crew Cab (8.5 vs. 7.3 inches), allowing the F-Super Duty to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.
