Both the Range Rover and LX have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Range Rover has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The LX’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

For better protection of the passenger compartment, the Range Rover uses safety cell construction with a three-dimensional high-strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment. It provides extra impact protection and a sturdy mounting location for door hardware and side impact beams. The LX uses a body-on-frame design, which has no frame members above the floor of the vehicle.

Both the Range Rover and the LX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the Range Rover has a standard 1600-amp battery. The LX’s 776-amp battery isn’t as powerful.

The battery on the Range Rover is in the trunk, which protects it from hot underhood temperatures that can degrade battery life. By keeping the Range Rover’s battery 20 to 30 degrees cooler, its life is increased by years. The LX’s battery is in the hot engine compartment.

The Range Rover P525’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8 produces 109 more horsepower (518 vs. 409) than the LX’s 3.4 turbo V6. The Range Rover SVAutobiography’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8 produces 148 more horsepower (557 vs. 409) and 37 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 479) than the LX’s 3.4 turbo V6.

The Lexus LX has a solid rear axle, with a non-independent rear suspension.

The Range Rover has standard front and rear stabilizer bars, which help keep the Range Rover flat and controlled during cornering. The LX base model’s suspension doesn’t offer a rear stabilizer bar.

The Range Rover V8 has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The LX doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The front and rear suspension of the Range Rover uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the LX, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Range Rover SVAutobiography’s optional sliding cargo floor makes loading and unloading cargo easier and safer. The LX doesn’t offer a sliding load floor.

The Range Rover’s rear cargo window opens separately from the rest of the tailgate door to allow quicker loading of small packages. The LX’s rear cargo window doesn’t open.

The Range Rover (except Base) offers optional massaging front and rear seats (rear heaters not available on Base/Westminster). Massaging seats aren’t available in the LX.

The Range Rover’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The LX doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
