The Metris Passenger’s optional lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. The Voyager doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

To reliably power the ignition and other systems and to recharge the battery, the Metris Passenger has a standard 190-amp alternator. The Voyager’s 180-amp alternator isn’t as powerful.

To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the Metris Passenger has a standard 850-amp battery. The Voyager’s 730-amp battery isn’t as powerful.

The battery on the Metris Passenger is under the seat, which protects it from hot underhood temperatures that can degrade battery life. By keeping the Metris Passenger’s battery 20 to 30 degrees cooler, its life is increased by years. The Voyager’s battery is in the hot engine compartment.

For more complete vehicle control the Metris Passenger has a manually controlled automatic, with the available convenience of an automatic transmission and the complete gear control of a manual transmission without the inconvenience of a clutch. A manually controlled automatic allows the driver to eliminate unwanted shifts and maximize engine braking by down shifting while cornering. The Metris Passenger’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Voyager’s standard 65 series tires.

The engine in the Metris Passenger is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways, as in the Voyager. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because there are no rear spark plugs and the accessory belts are in front.

When three different drivers share the Metris Passenger, the optional memory seats make it convenient for all three. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver’s seat position. The Voyager doesn’t offer memory seats.

The Metris Passenger’s front power windows open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Voyager’s front passenger window doesn’t close automatically.

If the front windows are left open on the Metris Passenger the driver can close them from a distance using the remote (remote must be aimed at door sensor). On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Voyager can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Metris Passenger has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank. The Voyager doesn’t offer a locking fuel door.

The Metris Passenger’s optional wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically according to the amount of rainfall on the windshield. The Voyager’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Metris Passenger to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Voyager doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The Metris Passenger’s standard automatic temperature control maintains the temperature you set to maintain a consistent, comfortable environment. The Voyager doesn’t offer automatic air conditioning.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Metris Passenger offers an optional Active Distance Assist Distronic, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Voyager doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

The Metris Passenger’s optional Active Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Voyager doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
