The Metris Cargo’s maximum EPA estimated driving range on a full tank of fuel is 425.5 miles, after which it can be refueled at any gas station in minutes. The E-Transit’s range is only 126 miles, after which the minimum recharge time is 34 minutes for only a 80% charge at a specially configured quick charge station not available in most areas. A full recharge at a conventional charging station can take up to 7 hours and 40 minutes.

The Metris Cargo’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 60 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the E-Transit’s standard 65 series tires. The Metris Cargo’s available liftgate lifts up in one piece, completely out of the way of loading and unloading, while sheltering the cargo loading area. The E-Transit’s two swing out doors impair rear visibility, need a lot of clearance, and can block loading in tight quarters.

To make loading and unloading groceries and cargo easier, especially for short adults, the Metris Cargo offers an optional power cargo door, which opens and closes automatically by pressing a button. The E-Transit doesn’t offer a power cargo door.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist on the Metris Cargo uses the Electronic Stability Program sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The E-Transit doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Metris Cargo’s front power windows open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The E-Transit’s passenger windows don’t open or close automatically.

If the front windows are left open on the Metris Cargo the driver can close them from a distance using the remote (remote must be aimed at door sensor). On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the E-Transit can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Metris Cargo has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank. The E-Transit doesn’t offer a locking charge port.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Metris Cargo to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The E-Transit doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Metris Cargo offers an optional rear wiper. The E-Transit doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Metris Cargo’s optional power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The E-Transit’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.

The Metris Cargo offers optional heated front seats, which keep the driver and front passenger extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated seats aren’t available in the E-Transit.

The Metris Cargo’s optional dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The E-Transit doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.

The Metris Cargo’s standard automatic temperature control maintains the temperature you set to maintain a consistent, comfortable environment. The E-Transit doesn’t offer automatic air conditioning.
