The e-tron’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The I-Pace doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Audi e-tron are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar I-Pace doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The Audi e-tron has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The I-Pace doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The e-tron has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the e-tron’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The I-Pace doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

An active infrared night vision system optional on the e-tron helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera and near-infrared lights to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the e-tron and the I-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available four-wheel drive and around view monitors.

The Audi e-tron weighs 981 to 1290 pounds more than the Jaguar I-Pace. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

For its top level performance in IIHS driver and passenger-side small overlap frontal, moderate overlap frontal, side impact, roof strength and head restraint tests, its standard vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention system, its standard vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention system, and its standard headlight’s “Good” rating, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety grants the e-tron its highest rating: “Top Safety Pick Plus” for 2021, a rating granted to only 76 vehicles tested by the IIHS. The I-Pace has not been tested, yet.

The e-tron’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the I-Pace’s (12 vs. 6 years).

There are over 67 percent more Audi dealers than there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the e-tron’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Audi vehicles are more reliable than Jaguar vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Audi 20th in reliability. With 59 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jaguar is ranked 31st.

The e-tron’s standard electric motors produce 8 more horsepower (402 vs. 394) than the I-Pace’s electric motors. The e-tron S’ standard electric motors produce 102 more horsepower (496 vs. 394) and 205 lbs.-ft. more torque (717 vs. 512) than the I-Pace’s electric motors.

For better traction, the e-tron has larger standard tires than the I-Pace (255/50R20 vs. 245/50R20). The e-tron’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the I-Pace (265/45R21 vs. 255/40R22).

The e-tron has 1 inch more front shoulder room, .5 inches more rear headroom, 4.1 inches more rear legroom and 2.7 inches more rear shoulder room than the I-Pace.

The e-tron has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the I-Pace with its rear seat up (28.5 vs. 25.3 cubic feet). The e-tron has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the I-Pace with its rear seat folded (56.4 vs. 53.6 cubic feet).

Pulling a handle automatically lowers the e-tron’s rear seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The I-Pace doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.

The e-tron’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the I-Pace’s (4000 vs. 1653 pounds).

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the e-tron has a standard rear wiper. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The e-tron has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the I-Pace.

The e-tron Prestige has standard massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the I-Pace.
