Compare the2022 Ford GTVS 2022 Ferrari Roma

The Ford GT has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Roma doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Both the GT and the Roma have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control and electronic stability systems to prevent skidding.

The GT’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Roma’s (5 vs. 3 years).

The GT has a standard “limp home system” to keep drivers from being stranded if most or all of the engine’s coolant is lost. The engine will run on only half of its cylinders at a time, reduce its power and light a warning lamp on the dashboard so the driver can get to a service station for repairs. The Roma doesn’t offer a lost coolant limp home mode, so a coolant leak could strand you or seriously damage the car’s engine.

The GT’s 3.5 turbo V6 produces 35 more horsepower (647 vs. 612) than the Roma’s 3.9 turbo V8.

The GT has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Roma doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

The GT has standard air brakes, which adjust the rear spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The Roma doesn’t offer air brakes.

For better traction and acceleration, the GT has larger rear tires than the Roma (325/30R20 vs. 285/35R20).

The GT’s 325/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Roma’s standard 35 series tires.

The GT has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Roma doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the GT’s wheelbase is 1.6 inches longer than on the Roma (106.7 inches vs. 105.1 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the GT is 1.7 inches wider in the front than on the Roma.

The GT is 7.5 inches shorter in height than the Roma, making the GT much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

For excellent aerodynamics, the GT has standard flush composite headlights. The Roma has recessed headlights that spoil its aerodynamic shape and create extra drag.

The GT (except Competition Series) uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Roma doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The GT’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Roma’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

The GT was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2018. The Roma has never been an “All Star.”
