The Ford GT has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Chiron doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The GT has standard SYNC®, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to get turn-by-turn driving directions or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Chiron doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the GT and the Chiron have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and available rearview cameras.

There are over 231 times as many Ford dealers as there are Bugatti dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the GT’s warranty.

The GT has a standard “limp home system” to keep drivers from being stranded if most or all of the engine’s coolant is lost. The engine will run on only half of its cylinders at a time, reduce its power and light a warning lamp on the dashboard so the driver can get to a service station for repairs. The Chiron doesn’t offer a lost coolant limp home mode, so a coolant leak could strand you or seriously damage the car’s engine.

On the EPA test cycle the GT gets better mileage than the Chiron:

The GT has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Chiron doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ford GT higher (3 out of 10) than the Bugatti Chiron (1). This means the GT produces up to 22.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Chiron every 15,000 miles.

The GT stops much shorter than the Chiron:

The GT handles at 1.11 G’s, while the Chiron Sport pulls only 1.06 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the GT’s turning circle is 9.8 feet tighter than the Chiron’s (40 feet vs. 49.8 feet).

The Ford GT may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 850 to 1050 pounds less than the Bugatti Chiron.

The design of the Ford GT amounts to more than styling. The GT has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .35 Cd. That is significantly lower than the Chiron (.39). A more efficient exterior helps the GT go faster and keeps the interior quieter. It also helps the GT get better fuel mileage.

The GT (except Competition Series) uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Chiron doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The GT’s speed-sensitive wipers speed up when the vehicle does, so that the driver doesn’t have to continually adjust the speed of the wipers. The Chiron’s
