The Aston Martin DB11 has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. The DB11 AMR’s standard 5.2 turbo V12 produces 11 more horsepower (630 vs. 619) than the Polestar 1’s 2.0 turbo/supercharged 4-cylinder hybrid.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the DB11 AMR’s fuel efficiency. The Polestar 1 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The DB11 has 4.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the Polestar 1 (20.5 vs. 15.9 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The front and rear suspension of the DB11 uses coil springs for better ride, handling and control than the Polestar 1, which uses torsion bars in the rear. Coil springs compress more progressively and offer more suspension travel for a smoother ride with less bottoming out.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the DB11’s wheelbase is 2.4 inches longer than on the Polestar 1 (110.4 inches vs. 108 inches).

The DB11 executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the Polestar 1 (23.9 seconds @ .84 average G’s vs. 24.5 seconds @ .83 average G’s).

The Aston Martin DB11 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1050 to 1300 pounds less than the Polestar 1.

The DB11 has a standard center folding armrest for the rear passengers. A center armrest helps make rear passengers more comfortable and it can provide a boundary between children. The Polestar 1 doesn’t offer a rear seat center armrest.

The DB11’s Auto Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Polestar 1 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The Aston Martin DB11 comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Polestar 1 isn’t available as a convertible.
