Safety
Warranty
The DB11 comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The S-Class Coupe’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.
The DB11’s corrosion warranty is 5 years longer than the S-Class Coupe’s (10 vs. 5 years).
Engine
The DB11 V8’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 produces 65 more horsepower (528 vs. 463) than the S-Class Coupe’s 4.0 turbo V8. The DB11 AMR’s standard 5.2 turbo V12 produces 167 more horsepower (630 vs. 463) than the S-Class Coupe’s 4.0 turbo V8.
Transmission
The DB11’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The S-Class Coupe doesn’t offer launch control.
Brakes and Stopping
For better stopping power the DB11’s brake rotors are larger than those on the S-Class Coupe:

S-Class Coupe |
Front Rotors |
15.7 inches |
14.6 inches |
Rear Rotors |
14.2 inches |
13.4 inches |
Tires and Wheels
For better traction, the DB11 has larger tires than the S-Class Coupe (F:255/40R20 & R:295/35R20 vs. F:245/45R19 & R:275/40R19).
The DB11’s 255/40R20 front and 295/35R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the S-Class Coupe’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the DB11 has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the S-Class Coupe.
Suspension and Handling
For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the DB11 is 1.6 inches wider in the front than on the S-Class Coupe.
Chassis
The Aston Martin DB11 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 600 to 850 pounds less than the Mercedes S-Class Coupe.
The DB11 is 11.9 inches shorter than the S-Class Coupe, making the DB11 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
