The DB11 has a standard Birds-eye Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Mercedes AMG GT only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

The DB11 has a standard blind spot warning system which uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. A system to reveal vehicles in the Mercedes AMG GT’s blind spot costs extra.

Both the DB11 and the Mercedes AMG GT have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

Warranty

The DB11 comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The AMG GT’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The DB11’s corrosion warranty is 5 years longer than the Mercedes AMG GT’s (10 vs. 5 years).

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the DB11 Coupe gets better mileage than the Mercedes AMG GT Coupe:

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the DB11 AMR’s fuel efficiency. The Mercedes AMG GT doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

Transmission

An eight-speed automatic is standard on the Aston Martin DB11, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the Mercedes AMG GT.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the DB11’s standard brake rotors are larger than those on the Mercedes AMG GT:

Tires and Wheels

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the DB11 has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Mercedes AMG GT Coupe. The Mercedes AMG GT’s largest wheels are only 19-inches in the front and 20-inches in the rear.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the DB11’s wheelbase is 6.9 inches longer than on the Mercedes AMG GT (110.4 inches vs. 103.5 inches).

Passenger Space

The DB11 has standard seating for 4 passengers; the Mercedes AMG GT can only carry 2.

Cargo Capacity

The DB11 Volante has a much larger trunk with its top down than the Mercedes AMG GT Roadster (8.5 vs. 5.8 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

The Mercedes AMG GT’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The DB11’s standard adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

On extremely cold winter days, the DB11’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The Mercedes AMG GT doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The DB11’s Auto Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Mercedes AMG GT doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
