The front and rear suspension of the F-Pace uses coil springs for better ride, handling and control than the V90, which uses transverse leafs springs in the rear. Coil springs compress more progressively and offer more suspension travel for a smoother ride with less bottoming out.
For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the F-Pace is 1 inch wider in the front and 1.5 inches wider in the rear than the track on the V90.
The F-Pace’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (51% to 49%) than the V90’s (53.7% to 46.3%). This gives the F-Pace more stable handling and braking.
The F-Pace SVR handles at .89 G’s, while the V90 T6 AWD Inscription pulls only .88 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.
The F-Pace SVR executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.3 seconds quicker than the V90 T6 AWD Inscription (25 seconds @ .77 average G’s vs. 26.3 seconds @ .67 average G’s).
For greater off-road capability the F-Pace has a 2.3 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the V90 (8.4 vs. 6.1 inches), allowing the F-Pace to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.
