Warranty
The F-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Range Rover Velar’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.
Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Land Rover only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Range Rover Velar.
Reliability
J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jaguar vehicles are better in initial quality than Land Rover vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jaguar 19th in initial quality. With 35 more problems per 100 vehicles, Land Rover is ranked 26th.
J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Jaguar vehicles are more reliable than Land Rover vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jaguar 31st in reliability. With 58 more problems per 100 vehicles, Land Rover is ranked 33rd.

Both the F-Pace and the Range Rover Velar have a standard automatic start/stop engine feature to stop unnecessary fuel waste and pollution at stoplights and heavy traffic. All F-Paces have a standard disable switch for the system, so a driver can keep the engine from shutting off when the vehicle stops temporarily. The Range Rover Velar P340/P400 doesn’t offer a way to disable start/stop.

Tires and Wheels
The F-Pace’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Range Rover Velar’s standard 60 series tires. The F-Pace SVR’s optional 295/35R22 rear tires have a lower 35 series profile than the Range Rover Velar’s optional 40 series tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the F-Pace has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the Range Rover Velar. The F-Pace’s optional 22-inch wheels are larger than the 21-inch wheels optional on the Range Rover Velar.
Suspension and Handling
The F-Pace handles at .88 G’s, while the Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography pulls only .83 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.
The F-Pace SVR executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 3.6 seconds quicker than the Range Rover Velar (25 seconds @ .77 average G’s vs. 28.6 seconds @ .57 average G’s).
Chassis
The F-Pace uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Range Rover Velar doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.
Passenger Space
The F-Pace has 1.6 inches more front headroom, .5 inches more front shoulder room, .5 inches more rear headroom and .2 inches more rear shoulder room than the Range Rover Velar.
Ergonomics
To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Jaguar F-Pace has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Range Rover Velar doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
The F-Pace S/R-Dynamic/SVR’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Range Rover Velar doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
