Compare the2022 Jaguar F-PaceVS 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

Both the F-Pace and Grand Cherokee Trackhawk have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The F-Pace has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The F-Pace offers an optional 3D Surround Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

The F-Pace’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the F-Pace and the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and rear cross-path warning.

The F-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

The F-Pace’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s (6 vs. 5 years).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 2 years longer than Jeep pays for maintenance for the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (5 years vs. 3 years).

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the engines in the F-Pace have an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of the engine in the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the F-Pace has a standard 800-amp battery. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s 700-amp battery isn’t as powerful.

On the EPA test cycle the F-Pace gets better mileage than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk:

Regenerative brakes improve the F-Pace’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the F-Pace’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Jaguar F-Pace higher (3 to 7 out of 10) than the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (1). This means the F-Pace produces up to 47 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk every 15,000 miles.

The F-Pace SVR’s optional 265/40R22 front and 295/35R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the F-Pace offers optional 22-inch wheels. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The F-Pace offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare or run-flat tires, either of which has mileage and speed limitations.

The F-Pace’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (51% to 49%) than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s (55% to 45%). This gives the F-Pace more stable handling and braking.

For greater off-road capability the F-Pace has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (8.4 vs. 8.1 inches), allowing the F-Pace to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Jaguar F-Pace may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 950 to 1350 pounds less than the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

The front step up height for the F-Pace is 1.5 inches lower than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (19.2” vs. 20.7”). The F-Pace’s rear step up height is 1 inches lower than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s (19.8” vs. 20.8”).

The F-Pace has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk with its rear seat folded (69.1 vs. 68.3 cubic feet).

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the F-Pace easier. The F-Pace’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 30.5 inches, while the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s liftover is 32.6 inches.

Pulling a handle automatically lowers the F-Pace S/R-Dynamic/SVR’s optional rear seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the F-Pace’s available liftgate can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The F-Pace has a higher standard payload capacity than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (1510 vs. 1350 lbs.).

The F-Pace (except Base) offers an available heads-up display that projects speed, warning and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The F-Pace’s power parking brake sets with one touch and releases with one touch or automatically. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s parking brake has to be released manually.

The F-Pace’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to open or close them fully.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the F-Pace to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The F-Pace R-Dynamic offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Jaguar F-Pace has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
