Both the F-Pace and AMG GLB have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The F-Pace has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The AMG GLB’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The F-Pace’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the AMG GLB.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the F-Pace’s standard rear cross-path warning system uses sensors in the rear bumper to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The AMG GLB doesn’t offer a cross-path warning system.

Both the F-Pace and the AMG GLB have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The F-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The AMG GLB’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

The F-Pace’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the AMG GLB’s (6 vs. 5 years).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Mercedes doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the AMG GLB.

The battery on the F-Pace is in the trunk, which protects it from hot underhood temperatures that can degrade battery life. By keeping the F-Pace’s battery 20 to 30 degrees cooler, its life is increased by years. The AMG GLB’s battery is in the hot engine compartment.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jaguar vehicles are better in initial quality than Mercedes vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jaguar 19th in initial quality. With 28 more problems per 100 vehicles, Mercedes is ranked 25th.

The F-Pace P340’s standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid produces 33 more horsepower (335 vs. 302) and 59 lbs.-ft. more torque (354 vs. 295) than the AMG GLB’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The F-Pace R-Dynamic S’ standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid produces 93 more horsepower (395 vs. 302) and 110 lbs.-ft. more torque (405 vs. 295) than the AMG GLB’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The F-Pace SVR’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8 produces 240 more horsepower (542 vs. 302) and 221 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 295) than the AMG GLB’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

On the EPA test cycle the F-Pace P250 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder gets better fuel mileage than the AMG GLB 35 (22 city/27 hwy vs. 21 city/26 hwy).

Regenerative brakes improve the F-Pace’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The AMG GLB doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist on the F-Pace uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The AMG GLB doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The engine in the F-Pace is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways, as in the AMG GLB. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because the accessory belts are in front.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the F-Pace to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The AMG GLB doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the F-Pace has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the AMG GLB only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

The F-Pace has standard heated front seats. Heated front seats cost extra on the AMG GLB. The F-Pace S/R-Dynamic/SVR also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated second row seats aren’t available in the AMG GLB.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Jaguar F-Pace has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the AMG GLB.
