To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the F-Pace. But it costs extra on the GV80.

Both the F-Pace and the GV80 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 2 years and 24,000 miles longer than Genesis pays for maintenance for the GV80 (5/60,000 vs. 3/36,000).

The battery on the F-Pace is in the trunk, which protects it from hot underhood temperatures that can degrade battery life. By keeping the F-Pace’s battery 20 to 30 degrees cooler, its life is increased by years. The GV80’s battery is in the hot engine compartment.

Regenerative brakes improve the F-Pace’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The GV80 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The F-Pace SVR’s optional 295/35R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the GV80’s optional 40 series tires.

The F-Pace offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the GV80; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which has mileage and speed limitations, or roadside assistance and a tow-truck.

The F-Pace handles at .88 G’s, while the GV80 ADVANCED AWD pulls only .82 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The F-Pace SVR executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.4 seconds quicker than the GV80 Standard AWD (25 seconds @ .77 average G’s vs. 27.4 seconds @ .63 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the F-Pace has a greater minimum ground clearance than the GV80 (8.4 vs. 8.1 inches), allowing the F-Pace to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Jaguar F-Pace may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 700 pounds less than the Genesis GV80.

The F-Pace is 7.8 inches shorter than the GV80, making the F-Pace easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The F-Pace has a much larger cargo volume than the GV80 with its rear seat up (31.5 vs. 11.6 cubic feet).

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the F-Pace easier. The F-Pace’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 30.5 inches, while the GV80’s liftover is 31.7 inches.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist on the F-Pace uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The GV80 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

If the windows are left open on the F-Pace the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the GV80 can’t use the remote to operate the windows.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the F-Pace to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The GV80 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Jaguar F-Pace has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the GV80.

The F-Pace will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the F-Pace will retain 46.74% to 47.07% of its original price after five years, while the GV80 only retains 44.45% to 45.87%.

The Jaguar F-Pace outsold the Genesis GV80 by over seven to one during 2020.
