The F-Pace’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The SQ5 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the F-Pace and the SQ5 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The F-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The SQ5’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Audi only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the SQ5.

To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the F-Pace has a standard 800-amp battery. The SQ5’s 420-amp battery isn’t as powerful.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jaguar vehicles are better in initial quality than Audi vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jaguar 19th in initial quality. With 75 more problems per 100 vehicles, Audi is ranked 32nd.

The F-Pace R-Dynamic S’ standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid produces 46 more horsepower (395 vs. 349) and 36 lbs.-ft. more torque (405 vs. 369) than the SQ5’s 3.0 turbo V6. The F-Pace SVR’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8 produces 193 more horsepower (542 vs. 349) and 147 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 369) than the SQ5’s 3.0 turbo V6.

The F-Pace has 3.4 gallons more fuel capacity than the SQ5 (21.9 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better traction, the F-Pace SVR’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the SQ5 (F:265/45R21 & R:295/40R21 vs. 255/45R20).

The F-Pace SVR’s optional 295/35R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the SQ5’s optional 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the F-Pace offers optional 22-inch wheels. The SQ5’s largest wheels are only 21-inches.

The F-Pace offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the SQ5; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which limits mileage and speed before replacement.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the F-Pace’s wheelbase is 2.1 inches longer than on the SQ5 (113.1 inches vs. 111 inches).

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the F-Pace is 1.1 inches wider in the front and 1.9 inches wider in the rear than the track on the SQ5.

The F-Pace’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (51% to 49%) than the SQ5’s (54.3% to 45.7%). This gives the F-Pace more stable handling and braking.

The F-Pace SVR handles at .89 G’s, while the SQ5 Prestige pulls only .88 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The F-Pace SVR executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the SQ5 Prestige (25 seconds @ .77 average G’s vs. 25.7 seconds @ .73 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the F-Pace has a greater minimum ground clearance than the SQ5 (8.4 vs. 8.2 inches), allowing the F-Pace to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Jaguar F-Pace may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 250 pounds less than the Audi SQ5.

The F-Pace uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The SQ5 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The F-Pace has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The SQ5 doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the F-Pace has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the SQ5 only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

The F-Pace R-Dynamic offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the SQ5.
