Both the F-Pace and RDX have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The F-Pace has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The RDX’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the F-Pace. But it costs extra on the RDX.

The F-Pace’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The RDX doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the F-Pace and the RDX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The F-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The RDX’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

The F-Pace’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the RDX’s (6 vs. 5 years).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Acura doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the RDX.

The battery on the F-Pace is in the trunk, which protects it from hot underhood temperatures that can degrade battery life. By keeping the F-Pace’s battery 20 to 30 degrees cooler, its life is increased by years. The RDX’s battery is in the hot engine compartment.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jaguar vehicles are better in initial quality than Acura vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jaguar 19th in initial quality. With 35 more problems per 100 vehicles, Acura is ranked 26th.

The F-Pace P340’s standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid produces 63 more horsepower (335 vs. 272) and 74 lbs.-ft. more torque (354 vs. 280) than the RDX’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The F-Pace R-Dynamic S’ standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid produces 123 more horsepower (395 vs. 272) and 125 lbs.-ft. more torque (405 vs. 280) than the RDX’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The F-Pace SVR’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8 produces 270 more horsepower (542 vs. 272) and 236 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 280) than the RDX’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

Regenerative brakes improve the F-Pace’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The RDX doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The F-Pace has 4.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the RDX (21.9 vs. 17.1 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better stopping power the F-Pace’s brake rotors are larger than those on the RDX:

The F-Pace’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the RDX are solid, not vented.

For better traction, the F-Pace has larger standard tires than the RDX (255/55R19 vs. 235/55R19). The F-Pace SVR’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the RDX (F:265/45R21 & R:295/40R21 vs. 255/40R20).

The F-Pace SVR’s optional 295/35R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the RDX A-Spec’s 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the F-Pace offers optional 22-inch wheels. The RDX’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The F-Pace offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the RDX; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which has mileage and speed limitations, or roadside assistance and a tow-truck.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the F-Pace’s wheelbase is 4.8 inches longer than on the RDX (113.1 inches vs. 108.3 inches).

The F-Pace’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (51% to 49%) than the RDX’s (57% to 43%). This gives the F-Pace more stable handling and braking.

The F-Pace handles at .88 G’s, while the RDX A-Spec AWD pulls only .81 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The F-Pace SVR executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.7 seconds quicker than the RDX AWD (25 seconds @ .77 average G’s vs. 27.7 seconds @ .62 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the F-Pace has a greater minimum ground clearance than the RDX (8.4 vs. 8.2 inches), allowing the F-Pace to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The F-Pace has .1 inches more front headroom and .2 inches more rear headroom than the RDX.

The F-Pace has a larger cargo volume than the RDX with its rear seat up (31.5 vs. 31.1 cubic feet).

The F-Pace’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the RDX’s (5291 vs. 1500 pounds).

Standard Trailer Stability Assist on the F-Pace uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The RDX doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The F-Pace has a much higher standard payload capacity than the RDX (1510 vs. 838 lbs.).

The engine in the F-Pace is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways, as in the RDX. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because the accessory belts are in front.

The F-Pace’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The RDX’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the F-Pace to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The RDX doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The F-Pace R-Dynamic offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the RDX.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Jaguar F-Pace has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the RDX.

The F-Pace S/R-Dynamic/SVR’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The RDX doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
