Both the Flying Spur and LS Series have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Flying Spur has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The LS Series’ child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Flying Spur has standard whiplash protection, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the whiplash protection system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The LS Series doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Flying Spur. But it costs extra on the LS Series.

An active infrared night vision system optional on the Flying Spur helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera and near-infrared lights to detect heat, the system then projects the image on the windshield, near the driver’s line of sight. The LS Series doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Flying Spur and the LS Series have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available lane departure warning systems.

The Flying Spur comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The LS Series’ 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Flying Spur’s reliability 17 points higher than the LS Series.

The Flying Spur V8’s maximum driving range in pure electric mode is 25 miles, about 42 times as far as the LS 500h’s .6 mile range.

The Flying Spur’s standard fuel tank has 1.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the LS Series Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (23.8 vs. 22.2 gallons).

The Flying Spur offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The LS Series doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The Flying Spur’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The LS Series doesn’t offer launch control.

For better traction, the Flying Spur has larger standard tires than the LS Series (F:265/45R20 & R:295/40R20 vs. 245/50R19). The Flying Spur’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the LS Series (F:275/35R22 & R:315/30R22 vs. F:245/45R20 & R:275/40R20).

The Flying Spur V8’s standard 265/45R20 front and 295/40R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series front and 40 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the LS Series’ standard 50 series tires. The Flying Spur’s optional 275/35R22 front and 315/30R22 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the LS Series 500 F Sport’s 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Flying Spur V8 has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the LS Series. The Flying Spur’s optional 22-inch wheels are larger than the 20-inch wheels optional on the LS Series.

The front and rear suspension of the Flying Spur uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the LS Series, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Flying Spur offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Lexus doesn’t offer an active suspension on the LS Series.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Bentley Flying Spur offers an optional wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console and for the rear passengers. The LS Series doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The Flying Spur’s Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The LS Series doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
