In heavy traffic or at stop lights the Quattroporte’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The G90 doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.
The Quattroporte has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The G90 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.
Transmission
The Quattroporte Trofeo’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The G90 doesn’t offer launch control.
Brakes and Stopping
For better stopping power the Quattroporte Trofeo’s brake rotors are larger than those on the G90:

G90 5.0 |
Front Rotors |

Tires and Wheels
The Quattroporte’s optional 245/35R21 front and 285/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the G90’s 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Quattroporte offers optional 21-inch wheels. The G90’s largest wheels are only 19-inches.
Suspension and Handling
The Quattroporte’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The G90 doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.
Chassis
The Maserati Quattroporte may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 550 to 650 pounds less than the Genesis G90.
The front grille of the Quattroporte uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The G90 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.
Passenger Space
The Quattroporte has 8.3 inches more front hip room, 5.2 inches more front shoulder room and 2.8 inches more rear hip room than the G90.
Cargo Capacity
The Quattroporte has a much larger trunk than the G90 (18.7 vs. 15.7 cubic feet).
The Quattroporte’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The G90 doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.
Ergonomics
The Quattroporte’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The G90 does not have an oil pressure gauge.
On a hot day the Quattroporte’s driver can lower all the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the G90 can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.
Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Quattroporte to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The G90 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.
In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Quattroporte has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The G90 doesn’t offer headlight washers.
The Quattroporte offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The G90 doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
