The MC20 has standard Maserati Connect, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Aventador doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the MC20 and the Aventador have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The MC20 has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Aventador doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Maserati MC20 higher (5 out of 10) than the Lamborghini Aventador (1). This means the MC20 produces up to 39 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Aventador every 15,000 miles.

An eight-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Maserati MC20, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the Aventador.

In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The MC20 has a standard brake assist system to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The Aventador doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.

The MC20 Coupe handles at 1.08 G’s, while the Aventador S pulls only 1.04 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the MC20’s turning circle is 2.3 feet tighter than the Aventador’s (38.7 feet vs. 41 feet).

The MC20 is 5.1 inches shorter than the Aventador, making the MC20 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces. The MC20 is 10.8 inches shorter than the Aventador SVJ.

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the MC20 to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Lamborghini doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Aventador.

The MC20 has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Aventador doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The MC20’s standard easy entry system glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The Aventador doesn’t offer an easy entry system.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the MC20 detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Aventador doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

The MC20’s standard rear view mirror and optional side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The MC20’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Maserati MC20 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Aventador doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
