To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the MC20’s optional rear cross-path warning system uses sensors in the rear bumper to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The NSX doesn’t offer a cross-path warning system.

Both the MC20 and the NSX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available blind spot warning systems.

The MC20’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 21 more horsepower (621 vs. 600) and 46 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 492) than the NSX’s 3.5 turbo V6 hybrid.

The MC20 has 2.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the NSX (18.5 vs. 15.6 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Maserati MC20 higher (5 out of 10) than the Acura NSX (3). This means the MC20 produces up to 16.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the NSX every 15,000 miles.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the MC20 has standard 20-inch wheels. Only 19-inch front wheels are available on the NSX.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the MC20’s wheelbase is 2.8 inches longer than on the NSX (106.3 inches vs. 103.5 inches).

The MC20 Coupe handles at 1.08 G’s, while the NSX pulls only 1.06 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the MC20’s turning circle is 1 foot tighter than the NSX’s (38.7 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

The Maserati MC20 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 250 pounds less than the Acura NSX.

The MC20 has 4 cubic feet more passenger volume than the NSX (48 vs. 44).

The MC20 has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The NSX doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The MC20’s standard easy entry system glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The NSX doesn’t offer an easy entry system.

The MC20’s power window, power lock and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The NSX’s power window switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

The MC20’s standard rear view mirror and optional side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The NSX has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Maserati MC20 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The NSX doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The Maserati MC20 comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Acura NSX isn’t available as a convertible.
