Both the F-Type and the AMG C-Class Cabriolet have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors, available blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

The F-Type comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The AMG C-Class Cabriolet’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

The F-Type’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the AMG C-Class Cabriolet’s (6 vs. 5 years).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Type for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Mercedes doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the AMG C-Class Cabriolet.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jaguar vehicles are better in initial quality than Mercedes vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jaguar 19th in initial quality. With 28 more problems per 100 vehicles, Mercedes is ranked 25th.

The F-Type has more powerful engines than the AMG C-Class Cabriolet:

The F-Type has 1.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the AMG C-Class Cabriolet (18.5 vs. 17.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better traction, the F-Type has larger standard tires than the AMG C-Class Cabriolet (F:255/35R20 & R:295/30R20 vs. F:225/45R18 & R:245/40R18). The F-Type R’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the AMG C-Class Cabriolet (F:265/35R20 & R:305/30R20 vs. F:255/40R18 & R:285/35R18).

The F-Type’s 255/35R20 front and 295/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the AMG C 43 Cabriolet’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the F-Type has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the AMG C 63 Cabriolet. The AMG C-Class Cabriolet’s largest wheels are only 19-inches in the front and 20-inches in the rear.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the F-Type is 2.1 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the AMG C-Class Cabriolet.

For better maneuverability, the F-Type’s turning circle is 2.2 feet tighter than the AMG C 63 Cabriolet’s (34.9 feet vs. 37.1 feet). The F-Type AWD’s turning circle is 1.4 feet tighter than the AMG C 43 Cabriolet’s (37 feet vs. 38.4 feet).

The Jaguar F-Type may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 350 to 550 pounds less than the Mercedes AMG C-Class Cabriolet.

The F-Type is 8.8 inches shorter than the AMG C 43 Cabriolet, making the F-Type easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The F-Type Convertible has a larger trunk with its top down than the AMG C-Class Cabriolet with its top down (7.3 vs. 7 cubic feet).

To make loading and unloading groceries and cargo easier, especially for short adults, the F-Type Coupe offers an optional power trunk, which opens and closes automatically by pressing a button. The AMG C-Class Cabriolet doesn’t offer a power trunk.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The F-Type has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The AMG C-Class Cabriolet doesn’t offer headlight washers.

On extremely cold winter days, the F-Type’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The AMG C-Class Cabriolet doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The F-Type was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2014. The AMG C-Class Cabriolet has never been an “All Star.”
