The F-Type has standard Autonomous Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Corvette doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

The F-Type offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Corvette doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The F-Type’s lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. The Corvette doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

The F-Type has standard Parking Aid to help warn the driver about vehicles, pedestrians or other obstacles behind or in front of their vehicle. The Corvette doesn’t offer a front parking aid.

The F-Type’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Corvette doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the F-Type and the Corvette have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

The F-Type comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Corvette’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

The F-Type’s 6 year corrosion warranty has no mileage limitations, but the corrosion warranty on the Corvette runs out after 100,000 miles.

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Type for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Chevrolet only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Corvette.

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the engines in the F-Type have an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of the engines in the Corvette.

The F-Type R’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8 produces 80 more horsepower (575 vs. 495) and 46 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 470) than the Corvette Z51’s standard 6.2 V8.

On the EPA test cycle the F-Type gets better mileage than the Corvette:

In heavy traffic or at stop lights the F-Type’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The Corvette doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

All wheel drive, available in the F-Type, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Chevrolet Corvette is not available with all wheel drive.

For better traction, the F-Type has larger front standard tires than the Corvette (255/35R20 vs. 245/35R19). The F-Type R’s front tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Corvette (F:265/35R20 & R:305/30R20 vs. F:245/35R19 & R:305/30R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the F-Type has standard 20-inch wheels. Only 19-inch front wheels are available on the Corvette.

The F-Type’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Corvette doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the F-Type is 1.7 inches wider in the rear than on the Corvette.

The F-Type’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (54.5% to 45.5%) than the Corvette’s (40% to 60%). This gives the F-Type more stable handling and braking.

For better maneuverability, the F-Type’s turning circle is 1.5 feet tighter than the Corvette with Magnetic Ride Control’s (34.9 feet vs. 36.4 feet). The F-Type AWD’s turning circle is 1.1 feet tighter than the Corvette’s (37 feet vs. 38.1 feet).

The F-Type is 6.3 inches shorter than the Corvette, making the F-Type easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The F-Type Coupe has a much larger trunk than the Corvette Coupe (14.4 vs. 12.6 cubic feet).

A low lift-over trunk design makes loading and unloading the F-Type easier. The F-Type’s trunk lift-over height is 33.3 inches, while the Corvette’s liftover is 38.7 inches.

With its convertible body style and remote trunk release lockout, the F-Type offers cargo security. The Corvette’s non-lockable remote release defeats cargo security.

To make loading and unloading groceries and cargo easier, especially for short adults, the F-Type Coupe offers an optional power trunk, which opens and closes automatically by pressing a button. The Corvette doesn’t offer a power liftgate.

The F-Type’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Corvette’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The F-Type has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Corvette doesn’t offer headlight washers.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors available for the F-Type detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Corvette doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

The F-Type’s optional Park Assist can parallel park by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Corvette doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The F-Type was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2014. The Corvette has never been an “All Star.”
