Compare the2022 Chrysler 300VS 2022 Maserati Ghibli

Both the 300 and the Ghibli have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available all wheel drive, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

Chrysler’s powertrain warranty covers the 300 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Maserati covers the Ghibli. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Ghibli ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The 300’s corrosion warranty is 1 year and unlimited miles longer than the Ghibli’s (5/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

There are almost 21 times as many Chrysler dealers as there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the 300’s warranty.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the 300’s reliability 61 points higher than the Ghibli.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 300 second among large cars in their 2021 Initial Quality Study. The Ghibli isn’t in the top three in its category.

On the EPA test cycle the 300 gets better mileage than the Ghibli:

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the 300 V8’s fuel efficiency. The Ghibli doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Chrysler 300 uses regular unleaded gasoline (mid-grade octane recommended with the 5.7 V8 engine for maximum performance). The Ghibli requires premium, which can cost 5 to 40 cents more per gallon.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Chrysler 300 higher (3 out of 10) than the Maserati Ghibli (1 to 3). This means the 300 produces up to 22.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Ghibli every 15,000 miles.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the 300’s wheelbase is 2 inches longer than on the Ghibli (120 inches vs. 118 inches).

For better maneuverability, the 300’s turning circle is 1 foot tighter than the Ghibli’s (37.4 feet vs. 38.4 feet).

As tested by Car and Driver, the interior of the 300S is quieter than the Ghibli Modena Q4:

The 300 has 4.1 inches more front legroom, 1.7 inches more front shoulder room, 6.9 inches more rear legroom and 1.2 inches more rear shoulder room than the Ghibli.

The 300 has a 1000 lbs. towing capacity. The Ghibli has no towing capacity.

Standard Trailer Sway Mitigation on the 300 uses the Electronic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Ghibli doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the 300 to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. Heated windshield washer nozzles cost extra on the Ghibli.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the 300 has standard extendable sun visors. The Ghibli doesn’t offer extendable visors.
