Both the 300 and the G90 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available all wheel drive, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

There are over 7 times as many Chrysler dealers as there are Genesis dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the 300’s warranty.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the 300’s reliability 43 points higher than the G90.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 300 second among large cars in their 2021 Initial Quality Study. The G90 isn’t in the top three in its category.

The 300’s optional 5.7 V8 produces 11 lbs.-ft. more torque (394 vs. 383) than the G90 5.0’s optional 5.0 DOHC V8.

On the EPA test cycle the 300 gets better mileage than the G90:

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the 300 V8’s fuel efficiency. The G90 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Chrysler 300 uses regular unleaded gasoline (mid-grade octane recommended with the 5.7 V8 engine for maximum performance). The G90 requires premium for maximum efficiency, which can cost 5 to 40 cents more per gallon.

The 300 has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The G90 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

The 300 stops shorter than the G90:

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the 300 offers optional 20-inch wheels. The G90’s largest wheels are only 19-inches.

The 300S handles at .85 G’s, while the G90 3.3T AWD pulls only .83 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the 300’s turning circle is 1.8 feet tighter than the G90’s (37.4 feet vs. 39.2 feet).

The Chrysler 300 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 550 to 600 pounds less than the Genesis G90.

The 300 is 6.3 inches shorter than the G90, making the 300 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The 300 has .4 inches more front shoulder room, 2.3 inches more rear legroom and 1.1 inches more rear hip room than the G90.

The 300 has a larger trunk than the G90 (16.3 vs. 15.7 cubic feet).

The 300’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The G90 doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.

The 300 has a 1000 lbs. towing capacity. The G90 has no towing capacity.

Standard Trailer Sway Mitigation on the 300 uses the Electronic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The G90 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

On a hot day the 300’s driver can lower the front windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the G90 can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the 300 to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The G90 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

Insurance will cost less for the 300 owner. The Complete Car Cost Guide estimates that insurance for the 300 will cost $6925 to $8755 less than the G90 over a five-year period.

The 300 will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the 300 will retain 39.91% to 41.54% of its original price after five years, while the G90 only retains 37.67% to 38.08%.

IntelliChoice estimates that five-year ownership costs (depreciation, financing, insurance, fuel, fees, repairs and maintenance) for the Chrysler 300 will be $39078 to $45268 less than for the Genesis G90.
