Both the Taycan and LS Series have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Taycan has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The LS Series’ child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Taycan helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The LS Series doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The Taycan 4S Performance Plus/Cross Turismo’s maximum EPA estimated driving range is 227 miles on a full charge. The LS 500h can only travel about .6 miles before it has to start its internal combustion engine.

Regardless of its engine, regenerative brakes improve the Taycan’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. Lexus only offers a regenerative brake system on the LS Series Hybrid.

Regardless of its engine, the Taycan’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. Lexus only offers an automatic engine start/stop system on the LS Series Hybrid.

The front grille of the Taycan uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The LS Series doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Taycan has .9 inches more front headroom and .8 inches more front legroom than the LS Series.
