The Taycan’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Revero doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The Taycan has standard Warn and Brake Assist, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Revero has a collision warning system without the crash-mitigating brake feature that could reduce stopping distances.

The Taycan offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Revero doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Taycan helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The Revero doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The Taycan has standard Porsche Connect, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Revero doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Taycan and the Revero have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, collision warning systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

Porsche pays for scheduled maintenance on the Taycan for 2 years and 24,000 miles. Porsche will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Karma doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Revero.

There are almost 9 times as many Porsche dealers as there are Karma dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Taycan’s warranty.

Engine

The Taycan Turbo S’ standard electric motors produces 214 more horsepower (750 vs. 536) and 224 lbs.-ft. more torque (774 vs. 550) than the Revero’s 1.5 turbo 3-cylinder hybrid.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Taycan Sedan gets better mileage than the Revero running on electricity:

The Taycan 4S Performance Plus/Cross Turismo’s maximum EPA estimated driving range is 227 miles on a full charge. The Revero GT can only travel about 61 miles before it has to start its internal combustion engine.

Environmental Friendliness

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Porsche Taycan higher (10 out of 10) than the Karma Revero (7). This means the Taycan produces up to 11.8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Revero every 15,000 miles.

Transmission

The Taycan’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Revero doesn’t offer launch control.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Taycan Turbo S’ front brake rotors are larger than those on the Revero:

The Taycan offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Revero doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Taycan’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Revero (F:265/35R21 & R:305/30R21 vs. F:255/35R22 & R:285/35R22).

The Taycan’s optional 305/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Revero’s optional 35 series tires.

Suspension and Handling

The Taycan offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Revero doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The Taycan offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Karma doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Revero.

The Taycan has a standard driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads. The Revero’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Taycan’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (49% to 51%) than the Revero’s (47% to 53%). This gives the Taycan more stable handling and braking.

For better maneuverability, the Taycan w/Rear Axle Steering’s turning circle is 6.3 feet tighter than the Revero’s (34.1 feet vs. 40.4 feet). The Taycan Cross Turismo’s turning circle is 1 foot tighter than the Revero’s (39.4 feet vs. 40.4 feet).

Chassis

The Porsche Taycan may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 500 pounds less than the Karma Revero.

The Taycan is 4 inches shorter than the Revero, making the Taycan easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the Taycan uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Revero doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Passenger Space

The Taycan offers optional seating for 5 passengers; the Revero can only carry 4.

Cargo Capacity

The Taycan has a much larger trunk than the Revero (17.2 vs. 6.4 cubic feet).

The Taycan has a much larger trunk with its rear seat up than the Revero (18.7 vs. 6.4 cubic feet).

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Taycan’s trunk can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Revero doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its trunk, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

Payload

The Taycan has a much higher standard payload capacity than the Revero (1331 vs. 700 lbs.).

Ergonomics

The Taycan has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Revero doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Revero, the Taycan offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Taycan offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Revero doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Taycan’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Revero’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors available for the Taycan detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Revero doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

When the Taycan with available tilt-down mirrors is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The Revero’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.

The Taycan’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Revero has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Taycan offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Revero.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Taycan offers an optional Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Revero doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Porsche Taycan has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Revero doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The Taycan’s optional Active Parking Support can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Park Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Revero doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The Porsche Taycan comes in sedan and station wagon bodystyles; the Karma Revero isn’t available as a station wagon.
