The Range Rover’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Urus.

The Range Rover’s optional driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Urus doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

The Range Rover has standard InControl, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Urus doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Range Rover and the Urus have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

There are almost 5 times as many Land Rover dealers as there are Lamborghini dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Range Rover’s warranty.

On the EPA test cycle the Range Rover gets better mileage than the Urus:

Regenerative brakes improve the Range Rover’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Urus doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In heavy traffic or at stop lights the Range Rover’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip (not available P360/P400). The Urus doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The Range Rover has 7.7 gallons more fuel capacity than the Urus’ standard fuel tank (27.5 vs. 19.8 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Range Rover has 5 gallons more fuel capacity than the Urus’ optional fuel tank (27.5 vs. 22.5 gallons).

The Range Rover offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Urus; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which has mileage and speed limitations, or roadside assistance and a tow-truck.

The Range Rover’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Urus doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

The Range Rover’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (48.9% to 51.1%) than the Urus’ (56% to 44%). This gives the Range Rover more stable handling and braking.

For greater off-road capability the Range Rover has a 3.3 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Urus (11.7 vs. 8.4 inches), allowing the Range Rover to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Range Rover’s minimum ground clearance is 1.9 inches higher than on the Urus (11.7 vs. 9.8 inches).

The Range Rover is 4.4 inches shorter than the Urus, making the Range Rover easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the Range Rover Diesel uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Urus doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

As tested by Car and Driver, the interior of the Range Rover SVAutobiography is quieter than the Urus:

The Range Rover has 10 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Urus (115 vs. 105).

The Range Rover has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Urus with its rear seat up (34.5 vs. 21.8 cubic feet). The Range Rover has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Urus with its rear seat folded (70.9 vs. 56.4 cubic feet).

The Range Rover SVAutobiography’s optional sliding cargo floor makes loading and unloading cargo easier and safer. The Urus doesn’t offer a sliding load floor.

The Range Rover’s rear cargo window opens separately from the rest of the tailgate door to allow quicker loading of small packages. The Urus’ rear cargo window doesn’t open.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) on the Range Rover uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Urus doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Range Rover has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Urus doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Range Rover’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Urus’

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Range Rover has a standard rear wiper. The Urus doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Range Rover Westminster/Autobiography/SVA has standard front air conditioned seats and the Range Rover offers them optionally in the rear. This keeps the passengers comfortable and takes the sting out of hot seats in summer. The Urus doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

Both the Range Rover and the Urus offer available massaging front seats. The Range Rover also offers optional massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the Urus.

The Range Rover offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Urus doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Range Rover’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Urus doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The Land Rover Range Rover outsold the Lamborghini Urus by almost 11 to one during the 2021 model year.
