The Range Rover has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The X6 M’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Range Rover offers optional 22-inch wheels. The X6 M’s largest wheels are only 21-inches in the front and 22-inches in the rear.

The Range Rover offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the X6 M; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which has mileage and speed limitations, or roadside assistance and a tow-truck.

The front and rear suspension of the Range Rover uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the X6 M, which uses coil springs in front. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Range Rover’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The X6 M doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For better maneuverability, the Range Rover’s turning circle is 1.5 feet tighter than the X6 M’s (40.5 feet vs. 42 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Range Rover has a 3.4 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the X6 M (11.7 vs. 8.3 inches), allowing the Range Rover to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Range Rover’s minimum ground clearance is 3.3 inches higher than on the X6 M Competition (11.7 vs. 8.4 inches).

The Land Rover Range Rover may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 400 pounds less than the BMW X6 M.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Range Rover’s rear seats recline. The X6 M’s rear seats don’t recline.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the Range Rover SVAutobiography Long Wheelbase when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the tailgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The X6 M doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

The Range Rover has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the X6 M with its rear seat up (34.5 vs. 27.4 cubic feet). The Range Rover has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the X6 M with its rear seat folded (70.9 vs. 59.6 cubic feet).

The Range Rover SVAutobiography’s optional sliding cargo floor makes loading and unloading cargo easier and safer. The X6 M doesn’t offer a sliding load floor.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Range Rover has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The X6 M doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Range Rover Westminster/Autobiography/SVA has standard front air conditioned seats and the Range Rover offers them optionally in the rear. This keeps the passengers comfortable and takes the sting out of hot seats in summer. The X6 M doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

Both the Range Rover and the X6 M offer available massaging front seats. The Range Rover also offers optional massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the X6 M.

The Range Rover offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The X6 M doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
