The Range Rover’s optional driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Range Rover and the RS Q8 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the Range Rover has a standard 1600-amp battery. The RS Q8’s 380-amp battery isn’t as powerful.

The battery on the Range Rover is in the trunk, which protects it from hot underhood temperatures that can degrade battery life. By keeping the Range Rover’s battery 20 to 30 degrees cooler, its life is increased by years. The RS Q8’s battery is in the hot engine compartment.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Land Rover vehicles are better in initial quality than Audi vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Land Rover 26th in initial quality. With 40 more problems per 100 vehicles, Audi is ranked 32nd.

On the EPA test cycle the Range Rover gets better mileage than the RS Q8:

The Range Rover has 5 gallons more fuel capacity than the RS Q8 (27.5 vs. 22.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Range Rover offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the RS Q8; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which limits mileage and speed before replacement.

The Range Rover’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For better maneuverability, the Range Rover’s turning circle is 3 feet tighter than the RS Q8’s (40.5 feet vs. 43.5 feet). The Range Rover LWB’s turning circle is .7 feet tighter than the RS Q8’s (42.8 feet vs. 43.5 feet).

The Land Rover Range Rover may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 500 pounds less than the Audi RS Q8.

The front grille of the Range Rover Diesel uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the Range Rover SVAutobiography Long Wheelbase when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the tailgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The RS Q8 doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

The Range Rover has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the RS Q8 with its rear seat up (34.5 vs. 30.5 cubic feet). The Range Rover has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the RS Q8 with its rear seat folded (70.9 vs. 60.7 cubic feet).

The Range Rover SVAutobiography’s optional sliding cargo floor makes loading and unloading cargo easier and safer. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer a sliding load floor.

The Range Rover’s cargo area is larger than the RS Q8’s in almost every dimension:

Pressing a switch automatically lowers or raises the Range Rover’s rear seats, to make changing between cargo and passengers easier. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.

The Range Rover’s rear cargo window opens separately from the rest of the tailgate door to allow quicker loading of small packages. The RS Q8’s rear cargo window doesn’t open.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) on the Range Rover uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the RS Q8, the Range Rover offers an optional passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Range Rover has a standard rear speed-sensitive intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the RS Q8 only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

The Range Rover Westminster/Autobiography/SVA has standard front air conditioned seats and the Range Rover offers them optionally in the rear. This keeps the passengers comfortable and takes the sting out of hot seats in summer. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

Both the Range Rover and the RS Q8 offer available massaging front seats. The Range Rover also offers optional massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the RS Q8.

The Range Rover offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Range Rover’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
