Full-time four-wheel drive is standard on the Range Rover. Full-time four-wheel drive gives added traction for safety in all conditions, not just off-road, like the only system available on the e-tron Sportback.

The Range Rover’s optional driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Range Rover and the e-tron Sportback have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Land Rover vehicles are better in initial quality than Audi vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Land Rover 26th in initial quality. With 40 more problems per 100 vehicles, Audi is ranked 32nd.

The Range Rover has more powerful engines than the e-tron Sportback:

The Range Rover P360’s maximum EPA estimated driving range on a full tank of fuel is 632.5 miles, after which it can be refueled at any gas station in minutes. The e-tron Sportback’s range is only 218 miles, after which the minimum recharge time is 30 minutes for only a 80% charge at a specially configured quick charge station not available in most areas. A full recharge at a conventional charging station can take up to 10 hours and 30 minutes.

For better traction, the Range Rover’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the e-tron Sportback (275/45R21 vs. 265/45R21).

The Range Rover’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the e-tron Sportback Premium Plus/Prestige’s optional 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Range Rover offers optional 22-inch wheels. The e-tron Sportback’s largest wheels are only 21-inches.

The Range Rover offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the e-tron Sportback; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Range Rover V8 has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The Range Rover’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the Range Rover is 1.9 inches wider in the front and 1.1 inches wider in the rear than the track on the e-tron Sportback.

The Land Rover Range Rover may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 50 to 750 pounds less than the Audi e-tron Sportback.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Range Rover’s rear seats recline. The e-tron Sportback’s rear seats don’t recline.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the Range Rover SVAutobiography Long Wheelbase when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the tailgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

The Range Rover has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the e-tron Sportback with its rear seat up (34.5 vs. 27.2 cubic feet). The Range Rover has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the e-tron Sportback with its rear seat folded (70.9 vs. 54.5 cubic feet).

The Range Rover SVAutobiography’s optional sliding cargo floor makes loading and unloading cargo easier and safer. The e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer a sliding load floor.

The Range Rover’s rear cargo window opens separately from the rest of the tailgate door to allow quicker loading of small packages. The e-tron Sportback’s rear cargo window doesn’t open.

The Range Rover’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the e-tron Sportback’s (7716 vs. 4000 pounds).

Standard Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) on the Range Rover uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Range Rover has a standard rear speed-sensitive intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the e-tron Sportback only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

Both the Range Rover and the e-tron Sportback offer available massaging front seats. The Range Rover also offers optional massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the e-tron Sportback.

The Range Rover offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Range Rover’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
