Compare the2022 Infiniti Q60VS 2021 Mercedes E-Class Coupe

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400 has standard Back-up Collision Intervention that uses rear sensors to monitor and automatically apply the brakes to prevent a rear collision. The E-Class Coupe doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

Both the Q60 and the E-Class Coupe have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, collision warning systems, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available all-wheel drive, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The Q60 comes with a full 4-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The E-Class Coupe’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 10,000 miles sooner.

Infiniti’s powertrain warranty covers the Q60 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Mercedes covers the E-Class Coupe. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the E-Class Coupe ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The Q60’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the E-Class Coupe’s (7 vs. 5 years).

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Infiniti vehicles are better in initial quality than Mercedes vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Infiniti 21st in initial quality. With 23 more problems per 100 vehicles, Mercedes is ranked 25th.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that Infiniti vehicles are more reliable than Mercedes vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Infiniti 9 places higher in reliability than Mercedes.

The Q60 Red Sport 400’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 produces 38 more horsepower (400 vs. 362) than the E-Class Coupe’s 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder hybrid.

The Q60 has 2.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the E-Class Coupe (20 vs. 17.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better traction, the Q60 has larger standard tires than the E-Class Coupe (255/40R19 vs. 245/45R18). The Q60 Red Sport 400’s front tires are larger than the largest tires available on the E-Class Coupe (F:255/35R20 & R:275/30R20 vs. F:245/45R18 & R:275/40R18).

The Q60’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the E-Class Coupe 4MATIC’s standard 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Q60 has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the E-Class Coupe.

The Q60 has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The E-Class Coupe doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The Infiniti Q60 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 150 to 450 pounds less than the Mercedes E-Class Coupe.

The Q60 is 6 inches shorter than the E-Class Coupe, making the Q60 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Q60 Luxe/Sport/Red Sport 400 uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The E-Class Coupe doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Q60 has .2 inches more front headroom, 1.2 inches more front legroom and 1.7 inches more rear shoulder room than the E-Class Coupe.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Infiniti service is better than Mercedes. J.D. Power ranks Infiniti third in service department satisfaction. With a 20% lower rating, Mercedes is ranked 6th.
