The Q60 Red Sport 400’s optional pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The LC Series doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400 has standard Back-up Collision Intervention that uses rear sensors to monitor and automatically apply the brakes to prevent a rear collision. The LC Series doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

The Q60 offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The LC Series doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400 has a standard Around View® Monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The LC Series only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Q60 and the LC Series have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, collision warning systems, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

The Q60 comes with a full 4-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The LC Series’ 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 10,000 miles sooner.

The Q60’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the LC Series’ (7 vs. 6 years).

The Q60 Red Sport 400’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 produces 46 more horsepower (400 vs. 354) than the LC 500h’s standard 3.5 DOHC V6 hybrid.

As tested in Car and Driver the Q60 Red Sport 400 is faster than the LC 500 5.0 DOHC V8:

All-wheel drive, available in the Q60, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all-wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Lexus LC Series is not available with all-wheel drive.

The Q60 stops shorter than the LC Series:

For better traction, the Q60 has larger standard tires than the LC Series (255/40R19 vs. 245/45R20). The Q60 Red Sport 400’s front tires are larger than the largest tires available on the LC Series (F:255/35R20 & R:275/30R20 vs. F:245/45R20 & R:275/40R20).

The Q60’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the LC Series’ standard 45 series front tires. The Q60 Red Sport 400’s 255/35R20 front and 275/30R20 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the LC Series’ optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

The Q60 has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The LC Series doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The Infiniti Q60 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 600 pounds less than the Lexus LC Series.

The Q60 is 3 inches shorter than the LC Series, making the Q60 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

To almost totally eliminate engine vibration in the passenger area, the Q60 has liquid-filled engine mounts. The liquid helps further dampen engine harshness. The LC Series uses conventional solid rubber engine mounts.

The Q60 has .7 inches more front headroom, 1.1 inches more front legroom, 2.3 inches more rear headroom, 4.2 inches more rear hip room and 3.1 inches more rear shoulder room than the LC Series.

The Q60 has a much larger trunk than the LC Series (8.7 vs. 5.4 cubic feet).

The Q60’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The LC Series doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

The LC Series’ cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Q60 Red Sport 400’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

To shield the driver’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side window, the Q60 has a standard extendable sun visor. The LC Series doesn’t offer extendable visors.

When the Q60 with available tilt-down mirrors is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The LC Series’ mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

For greater rear passenger comfort, the Q60 has standard rear heat vents to keep rear occupants more comfortable. The LC Series doesn’t offer rear vents.
