Compare the2022 Infiniti Q60VS 2022 Toyota Supra

To maximize occupant safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Infiniti Q60 have pretensioners to eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Toyota Supra doesn’t offer pretensioners.

The Q60 Red Sport 400’s optional pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Supra doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The Q60 offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Supra doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400 has a standard Around View® Monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Supra only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Q60 and the Supra have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, collision warning systems, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

The Q60 comes with a full 4-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Supra’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 24,000 miles sooner.

Infiniti’s powertrain warranty covers the Q60 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Toyota covers the Supra. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Supra ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The Q60’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Supra’s (7 vs. 5 years).

The Q60’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 produces 45 more horsepower (300 vs. 255) than the Supra’s optional 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The Q60 Red Sport 400’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 produces 18 more horsepower (400 vs. 382) than the Supra’s optional 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder.

As tested in Car and Driver the Q60 Red Sport 400 is faster than the Toyota Supra turbo 4 cyl.:

The Q60 has 6.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the Supra (20 vs. 13.7 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

All-wheel drive, available in the Q60, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all-wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Toyota Supra is not available with all-wheel drive.

For better stopping power the Q60 Red Sport 400’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the Supra:

The Q60 Red Sport 400’s 275/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Supra 3.0’s 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Q60 has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the Supra 2.0. The Q60 Red Sport 400’s 20-inch wheels are larger than the 19-inch wheels on the Supra 3.0.

The Q60 has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Supra doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Q60 can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Supra doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Q60’s wheelbase is 15 inches longer than on the Supra (112.2 inches vs. 97.2 inches).

The Q60 Luxe/Sport/Red Sport 400 uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Supra doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Q60 has standard seating for 4 passengers; the Supra can only carry 2.

The Q60 has 34.5 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Supra (85.4 vs. 50.9).

The Q60 has .9 inches more front legroom and .2 inches more front shoulder room than the Supra.

With its coupe body style, valet key, locking rear seatbacks and remote trunk release lockout, the Q60 offers cargo security. The Supra’s hatchback body style and non-lockable remote release defeat cargo security.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Infiniti service is better than Toyota. J.D. Power ranks Infiniti third in service department satisfaction. With a 41% lower rating, Toyota is ranked 20th.

The Q60’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. Toyota does not offer a locking feature on the Supra’s power windows.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the Q60 Red Sport 400 offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The Supra doesn’t offer cornering lights.

To shield the driver’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side window, the Q60 has a standard extendable sun visor. The Supra doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Q60’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The Supra’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

On extremely cold winter days, the Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400’s standard heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The Supra doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.
