The Q60 Red Sport 400’s optional pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Corvette doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400 has standard Forward Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Corvette doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400 has standard Back-up Collision Intervention that uses rear sensors to monitor and automatically apply the brakes to prevent a rear collision. The Corvette doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

The Q60 offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Corvette doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400’s lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. The Corvette doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

The Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400 has a standard Around View® Monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Corvette only offers a rear monitor and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the front or sides.

Both the Q60 and the Corvette have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

The Q60 comes with a full 4-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Corvette’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 24,000 miles sooner.

Infiniti’s powertrain warranty covers the Q60 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Chevrolet covers the Corvette. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Corvette ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The Q60’s corrosion warranty is 1 year and unlimited miles longer than the Corvette’s (7/unlimited vs. 6/100,000).

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the engines in the Q60 have an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of the engines in the Corvette.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Q60’s reliability 20 points higher than the Corvette.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that Infiniti vehicles are more reliable than Chevrolet vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Infiniti 6 places higher in reliability than Chevrolet.

On the EPA test cycle the Q60 gets better mileage than the Corvette:

The Q60 has 1.5 gallons more fuel capacity than the Corvette (20 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

All-wheel drive, available in the Q60, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all-wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Chevrolet Corvette is not available with all-wheel drive.

For better traction, the Q60 has larger standard tires than the Corvette (255/40R19 vs. 245/35R19). The Q60 Red Sport 400’s front tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Corvette (255/35R20 vs. 245/35R19).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Q60 Red Sport 400 has standard 20-inch wheels. The Corvette’s largest wheels are only 19-inches in the front and 20-inches in the rear.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Q60’s wheelbase is 5 inches longer than on the Corvette (112.2 inches vs. 107.2 inches).

The Q60’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (55% to 45%) than the Corvette’s (40% to 60%). This gives the Q60 more stable handling and braking.

To almost totally eliminate engine vibration in the passenger area, the Q60 has liquid-filled engine mounts. The liquid helps further dampen engine harshness. The Corvette uses conventional solid rubber engine mounts.

The Q60 has standard seating for 4 passengers; the Corvette can only carry 2.

With its coupe body style, valet key, locking rear seatbacks and remote trunk release lockout, the Q60 offers cargo security. The Corvette’s non-lockable remote release defeats cargo security.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Infiniti service is better than Chevrolet. J.D. Power ranks Infiniti third in service department satisfaction. With a 36% lower rating, Chevrolet is ranked 19th.

The Q60’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. Chevrolet does not offer a locking feature on the Corvette’s power windows.

If the windows are left open on the Q60 the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Corvette can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Q60’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Corvette’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400 detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Corvette doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the Q60 Red Sport 400 offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The Corvette doesn’t offer cornering lights.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Q60 Luxe/Red Sport 400 has a standard Intelligent Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Corvette doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

IntelliChoice estimates that five-year ownership costs (depreciation, financing, insurance, fuel, fees, repairs and maintenance) for the Infiniti Q60 will be $587 to $6940 less than for the Chevrolet Corvette.
