The G90’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Revero doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The G90 has standard Anti-Whiplash Front Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Anti-Whiplash Front Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Revero doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

The G90 has standard Automatic Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Revero has a collision warning system without the crash-mitigating brake feature that could reduce stopping distances.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The G90 has standard Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist-Reverse that uses rear sensors to monitor and automatically apply the brakes to prevent a rear collision. The Revero doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

The G90 offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Revero doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The G90’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Revero doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

The G90 has standard Connected Care, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to get turn-by-turn driving directions, remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Revero doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the G90 and the Revero have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, collision warning systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

For its top level performance in IIHS driver and passenger-side small overlap frontal, moderate overlap frontal, side impact, roof strength and head restraint tests, its standard vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention system, its standard vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention system, and its standard headlight’s “Good” rating, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety grants the G90 its highest rating: “Top Pick Plus” for 2021, a rating granted to only 73 vehicles tested by the IIHS. The Revero has not been tested, yet.

Warranty

Genesis pays for scheduled maintenance on the G90 for 3 years and 36,000 miles. Genesis will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Karma doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Revero.

There are over 15 times as many Genesis dealers as there are Karma dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the G90’s warranty.

Reliability

To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the G90 has a standard 950-amp battery. The Revero’s 760-amp battery isn’t as powerful.

Fuel Economy and Range

The G90 has 11.7 gallons more fuel capacity than the Revero (21.9 vs. 10.3 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the G90 5.0’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the Revero:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction and acceleration, the G90 has larger rear tires than the Revero (275/40R19 vs. 265/40R21).

The G90 has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Revero; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

Suspension and Handling

The G90 has a standard driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads. The Revero’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For better maneuverability, the G90’s turning circle is 1.2 feet tighter than the Revero’s (39.2 feet vs. 40.4 feet).

Chassis

The Genesis G90 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 150 to 450 pounds less than the Karma Revero.

The design of the Genesis G90 amounts to more than styling. The G90 has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .27 Cd. That is significantly lower than the Revero (.35) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the G90 get better fuel mileage.

The G90 uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Revero doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

Passenger Space

The G90 has standard seating for 5 passengers; the Revero can only carry 4.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the G90 5.0’s rear seats recline. The Revero’s rear seats don’t recline.

Cargo Capacity

The G90 has a much larger trunk than the Revero (15.7 vs. 6.4 cubic feet).

To allow full utilization of available cargo room, the G90’s trunk lid uses concealed beam hinges that don’t intrude into the trunk. The Revero’s useful trunk space is reduced by its intrusive beam hinge.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the G90’s trunk can be opened just by waiting momentarily behind the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Revero doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its trunk, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

Ergonomics

The G90 has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Revero doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Revero, the G90 has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The G90 has a standard heads-up display that projects speed, warning and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Revero doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The G90’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Revero’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the G90 detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Revero doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

When the G90 is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The Revero’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

The G90’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Revero has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The G90 has standard front air conditioned seats and the G90 5.0 also has them in the rear. This keeps the passengers comfortable and takes the sting out of hot seats in summer. The Revero doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The G90 has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Revero.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the G90 has a standard Smart Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Revero doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Genesis G90 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Revero doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
