Safety
Warranty
There are over 12 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Lexus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Corvette’s warranty.
Reliability
J.D. Power and Associates rated the Corvette first among compact premium sporty cars in their 2021 Initial Quality Study. The LC Series was rated third.
Engine
The Corvette’s standard 6.2 V8 produces 136 more horsepower (490 vs. 354) and 115 lbs.-ft. more torque (465 vs. 350) than the LC 500h’s standard 3.5 DOHC V6 hybrid. The Corvette’s 6.2 V8 produces 19 more horsepower (490 vs. 471) and 67 lbs.-ft. more torque (465 vs. 398) than the LC 500’s standard 5.0 DOHC V8. The Corvette Z51’s standard 6.2 V8 produces 24 more horsepower (495 vs. 471) and 72 lbs.-ft. more torque (470 vs. 398) than the LC 500’s standard 5.0 DOHC V8.
As tested in Motor Trend the Corvette Z51 is faster than the LC 500 5.0 DOHC V8:

Fuel Economy and Range
An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Corvette’s fuel efficiency. The LC Series doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.
The Corvette has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The LC Series doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.
Transmission
The Corvette offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The LC Series doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.
The Corvette’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The LC Series doesn’t offer launch control.
Brakes and Stopping
The Corvette stops much shorter than the LC Series:

Tires and Wheels
For better traction and acceleration, the Corvette has larger rear tires than the LC Series (305/30R20 vs. 275/40R20).
The Corvette’s 245/35R19 front and 305/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the LC Series’ standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires. The Corvette’s tires are lower profile than the LC Series’ optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.
The Corvette has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The LC Series doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.
Chassis
The Chevrolet Corvette may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 800 to 900 pounds less than the Lexus LC Series.
The Corvette is 5.1 inches shorter than the LC Series, making the Corvette easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
The Corvette’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The LC Series doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.
Passenger Space
The Corvette Coupe has .7 inches more front headroom and .8 inches more front legroom than the LC Series.
Cargo Capacity
The Corvette Coupe has a much larger trunk than the LC Series (12.6 vs. 5.4 cubic feet).
The Corvette Convertible has a much larger trunk with its top down than the LC Series Convertible (12.6 vs. 3.4 cubic feet).
Servicing Ease
The Corvette has a standard under hood light to help in making nighttime maintenance checks, adding fluids, etc. The LC Series doesn’t offer an under hood light.
Ergonomics
Unlike the driver-only memory system in the LC Series, the Corvette offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, suspension setting and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.
The Corvette’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The LC Series does not have an oil pressure gauge.
On a hot day the Corvette Convertible has a standard remote opening feature, to lower the top from outside. The LC Series doesn’t offer a remote top, so the driver will have to enter the car, turn the ignition on and lower the top.
To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Corvette has standard extendable sun visors. The LC Series doesn’t offer extendable visors.
When the Corvette with available tilt-down mirrors is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The LC Series’ mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.
To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Chevrolet Corvette offers an optional wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The LC Series doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
