Full-time four-wheel drive is standard on the I-Pace. Full-time four-wheel drive gives added traction for safety in all conditions, not just off-road, like the only system available on the e-tron Sportback.

The I-Pace’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the I-Pace and the e-tron Sportback have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The I-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The e-tron Sportback’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the I-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Audi only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the e-tron Sportback.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the I-Pace’s reliability 13 points higher than the e-tron Sportback.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jaguar vehicles are better in initial quality than Audi vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jaguar 19th in initial quality. With 75 more problems per 100 vehicles, Audi is ranked 32nd.

The I-Pace’s electric motors produce 22 lbs.-ft. more torque (512 vs. 490) than the e-tron Sportback’s standard electric motors.

The I-Pace’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the e-tron Sportback Premium Plus/Prestige’s optional 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the I-Pace offers optional 22-inch wheels. The e-tron Sportback’s largest wheels are only 21-inches.

The I-Pace offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the e-tron Sportback; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the I-Pace’s wheelbase is 2.7 inches longer than on the e-tron Sportback (117.7 inches vs. 115 inches).

The Jaguar I-Pace may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 950 pounds less than the Audi e-tron Sportback.

The I-Pace is 8.7 inches shorter than the e-tron Sportback, making the I-Pace easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The I-Pace has 1.8 inches more front headroom, .1 inches more front legroom and .2 inches more rear headroom than the e-tron Sportback.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the I-Pace to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The I-Pace’s Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
