Compare the2022 Acura NSXVS 2021 Lamborghini Aventador

The NSX’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Aventador doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The NSX’s blind spot mirrors use wide-angle convex mirrors mounted in the corner of each side view mirror to reveal objects that may be in the driver’s blind spots. The Aventador doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

The NSX has standard AcuraLink, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Aventador doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the NSX and the Aventador have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

There are over 7 times as many Acura dealers as there are Lamborghini dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the NSX’s warranty.

The Aventador’s redline is at 8500 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The NSX has a 7500 RPM redline.

Regenerative brakes improve the NSX’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Aventador doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The NSX has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Aventador doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Acura NSX higher (3 out of 10) than the Lamborghini Aventador (1). This means the NSX produces up to 22.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Aventador every 15,000 miles.

A nine-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Acura NSX, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the Aventador.

In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The NSX has a standard brake assist system to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The Aventador doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.

The NSX stops shorter than the Aventador:

The NSX has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Aventador doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The NSX handles at 1.06 G’s, while the Aventador S pulls only 1.04 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the NSX’s turning circle is 1.3 feet tighter than the Aventador’s (39.7 feet vs. 41 feet).

The NSX is 10.4 inches shorter than the Aventador, making the NSX easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The NSX uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Aventador doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The NSX has 2.1 inches more front headroom and 2.2 inches more front shoulder room than the Aventador.

A Maintenance Minder is standard on the NSX to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for oil changes and transmission fluid replacement based on actual driving conditions. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Lamborghini doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Aventador.

The NSX’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. Lamborghini does not offer a locking feature on the Aventador’s standard power windows.

The NSX’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Aventador’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the NSX detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Aventador doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

When the NSX is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The Aventador’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

The NSX’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Aventador doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.

The NSX was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2017. The Aventador has never been an “All Star.”
