Compare the2022 Acura NSXVS 2021 Bugatti Chiron

The NSX’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Chiron doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The Acura NSX has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Chiron doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The NSX has standard AcuraLink, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Chiron doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the NSX and the Chiron have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

There are almost 21 times as many Acura dealers as there are Bugatti dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the NSX’s warranty.

Regenerative brakes improve the NSX’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Chiron doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In heavy traffic or at stop lights the NSX’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. The Chiron doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The NSX has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Chiron doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Acura NSX higher (3 out of 10) than the Bugatti Chiron (1). This means the NSX produces up to 22.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Chiron every 15,000 miles.

A nine-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Acura NSX, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the Chiron.

The NSX stops much shorter than the Chiron:

The NSX has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Chiron doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

For better maneuverability, the NSX’s turning circle is 10.1 feet tighter than the Chiron’s (39.7 feet vs. 49.8 feet).

The Acura NSX may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 300 to 500 pounds less than the Bugatti Chiron.

The NSX uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Chiron doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The NSX has a much larger trunk than the Chiron (3.9 vs. 2 cubic feet).

The NSX’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Chiron’s

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the NSX detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Chiron doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

The NSX’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Chiron doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.

The NSX’s standard steering wheel mounted cruise control is close at hand. The Chiron’s standard cruise control is on an over-crowded turn signal stalk.

The NSX was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2017. The Chiron has never been an “All Star.”
